ABMT

A process in which a patients healthy bone marrow is withdrawn and preserved. It is later injected back into the patient to replace bone marrow damaged by tall doses of radiation therapy. It can then manufacture healthy blood cells. This treatment is used to offset the detrimental effects of high-dose radiation used in determined types of cancer.
