B. Diessenhofen, Switzerland, Jan. 16th, 1653. D. Mannheim, Oct. 2nd, 1727. Studied under Duverney in Paris and became Professor of Anatomy at Heidelberg (1687) and Strasburg.
Brunner's Glands - glandulae duodenales. Descriptio de glandulis in duodeno intestino detectis. Heidelberg. 1687. Also: Physiologica de glandulis duodeni cogitata. Heidelberg. 1687. The duodenal glands had previously been described by Brunner's father-in-law, J.J. Wepper, whose work was published in 1679.
