A second-generation cephalosporin administered intravenously or intramuscularly. Its bactericidal action results from inhibition of cell wall synthesis. It is effective in the treatment of urinary tract infections, respiratory tract' >lower respiratory tract infections, and soft tissue and bone infections. Pharmacological action: cephalosporins.
