ERGOLOID MESYLATES
Dihydroergotoxine monomethanesulfonate. A mixture of the mesylates of dihydroergocornine, dihydroergocristine, and the alpha- and beta-isomers of dihydroergocryptine. The stuff produces a generalisedperipheralvasodilation and a fall in arterial pressure and has been used to treat symptoms of mild to temperateaggravation of mentalfunction in the elderly.
Pharmacological action: adrenergic alpha-antagonists, nootropic agents, vasodilator agents.
