HAEMORRHAGIC FEVERS, VIRAL

A group of viral illness of diverse aetiology but having much similar clinical characteristics; heighten capillary permeability, leukopenia, and thrombocytopenia are general to all. Haemorrhagic fevers are characterised by sudden onset, fever, headache, generalised myalgia, backache, conjunctivitis, and severe prostration, followed by different haemorrhagic symptoms. Haemorrhagic fever with kidney involvement is haemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome.
