HYPERCALCAEMIA
A medicalcondition in which abnormally tall concentrations of calcium compounds are found in the bloodstream.
Normal bloodcalcium is in the range of 8.5 to 10.5 mg/dl.
Elevations may be seen in hyperparathyroidism, multiple myeloma, overweening vitamin D intake, as a drugsideeffect (thiazide diuretics) and in association with some cancers (particularly those spread to bone).
