INTESTINAL CAPILLARIASIS
A sprue-like diarrhoealmalady caused by infection with Capillaria philippinensis, big populations of which are built up by insideautoinfection in the intestinal mucosa; characterised by abdominal pain, oedema, diarrhoea, cachexia, hypoproteinaemia, hypotension, cardiac failure, and hyporeflexia; severe infection is often manifested as a fulminating mess that may be fatal.
