MAGNESIA

A easy earthy white stuff, consisting of magnesium oxide, and obtained by heating magnesium hydrate or carbonate, or by burning magnesium. It has a slightly alkaline reaction, and is used in medication as a mild antacid laxative. See Magnesium. Magnesia alba [L.
