A poisonous nitrogenous base (C6H10N2) obtained indirectly from oxamide as a fat transparent oil which has a strong narcotic odour, and a physiological action resembling that of atropine. It is perhaps related to pyridine. Origin: Oxalic + ethyl + -ine. Source: Websters Vocabulary
