PAPILLA DUODENI MAJOR

Point of opening of the general bile duct and pancreatic duct into the duodenum; it is situated posteriorly in the descending part of the duodenum. Synonym: papilla duodeni major, bile papilla, papilla of Vater, Santorini's major caruncle.
