SQUINANCY
1. The quinsy.
2. A European perennialgrass (Asperula cynanchica) with narrowly linearwhorled leaves; formerly thought to cure the quinsy. Also called quincewort. Squinancy berries, black currants; so called because used to cure the quinsy.
